Trebonn's SplitGlass: The Revolutionary Modular Wine Glass System Set to Launch on Indiegogo
Italian brand Trebonn is preparing to disrupt the traditional wine glass market with its innovative SplitGlass system, a modular glassware solution that combines practicality with elegant design.
The SplitGlass system, created by the father-and-sons trio Cesare, Federico, and Niccolò Bonardi, features fine lead-free crystal glasses that can function as standalone tumblers or be magnetically attached to an aluminum stem to create traditional wine glasses. This revolutionary approach to glassware was unveiled in late 2024 and is now preparing for its official launch on Indiegogo in 2025.
What makes SplitGlass truly unique is its modular nature. The system consists of just three different bowl types and one stem, creating a versatile set that can accommodate various beverages from red and white wine to champagne and cocktails. A powerful magnet ensures a secure connection between the bowl and stem, providing stability during normal use while allowing for easy separation when needed.
The practicality of this design cannot be overstated. By detaching the stem, users can easily fit their glassware into dishwashers, solving the common problem of limited space for traditional stemware. The modular nature also means significantly reduced storage requirements, as one set of SplitGlass components can replace multiple conventional glass sets.
Adding to its appeal, SplitGlass offers aesthetic customization through colored decorations at the base of each bowl. These sophisticated colors serve a dual purpose – they not only enhance the visual appeal of the glassware but also function as elegant place markers for dinner settings.
The Trebonn brand, which describes itself as blending "innovative designs and enriched functionality," has positioned SplitGlass as its most ambitious project to date. Wine enthusiasts and design-conscious consumers can now sign up via the Trebonn website to be notified when the Indiegogo campaign launches, expected sometime in 2025.
As traditional products continue to be reimagined for modern lifestyles, SplitGlass represents a bold step forward in an industry where design has remained largely unchanged for centuries. It challenges the notion that wine glasses must follow conventional forms, proving that even the most established products can be improved through thoughtful innovation.
